Purpose:  The Commercial Lines Account Executive is responsible for overseeing an assigned book of business to ensure that each account is properly serviced throughout the year and proposals and policies for renewal are prepared for and presented to clients in a timely fashion.  The Commercial Lines Account Executive is responsible for reviewing coverage options with the client and making recommendations for additional coverage(s) to best insure the client’s business.  
 
DUTIES:
  1. Oversee the monthly renewal lists for all accounts assigned and contact client 60 days prior to policy expiration date to complete a Renewal Phone Survey with the client.
  2. Determine if the account needs to be remarketed with another insurance company due to policy limits, an increase in premium from the current carrier or a need for different or additional coverage(s) based on changes in business operations and remarket with other carriers as needed.
  3. Complete a formal proposal, including any recommendations of coverage that is not currently in place to try to insure the client appropriately, for all renewals (remarketed or not). Proposals must be completed a minimum of 30 days prior to policy expiration date. Formal proposal should be reviewed with supervisor and sent to the client.  
  4. Maintain the management system file for each client.
  5. Assist in writing new business as needed.
  6. Complete building cost evaluations to determine replacement cost of building.
  7. Review all incoming mail daily and process as needed in a timely manner (usually the same day).
  8. Assist clients with phone calls and respond to voicemail messages and emails in a timely manner.
  9. Act as a liaison between the insurance company claims adjuster and the client in cases where there are claim disputes as needed.
  10. Update all policy information in the management system on a daily basis and in a timely manner.
  11. Invoice clients for all agency bill policies.
  12. Negotiate with insurance company underwriters to obtain the best possible pricing.
  13. Check policies for accuracy and sending clients their policies.
  14. Issuing certificates or ID cards as needed or requested by clients.
  15. Keep suspense file on all transactions for each client and check daily until completed.
  16. Other duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 5 years commercial lines experience in an insurance agency with knowledge in all lines of commercial insurance coverages including (but not limited to): property, general liability, workers compensation, umbrella, commercial auto, D&O, cyber and professional liability. 
  • Current TDI General Lines Agent Property & Casualty insurance license.
  • Strong communication, organizational and “people” skills.
  • Computer literate including strong skills in MS Word and Excel. Good writing skills. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize urgency of work on a file.
  • Experience on Applied Epic (preferred) or similar agency management software.
  • Must have online rating experience with standard insurance companies and be able to handle all aspects of a client file including but not limited to renewing the account, endorsements, claims, etc.
  • Salary will be determined based on experience. 

Flexible work from home options available.

Compensation: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
